Bit the bullet and bought what I really wanted. A mid 1990's Pioneer PD-65. The laser had already been replaced so hopefully this brick outhouse will serve me well for years to come. Almost pulled the trigger on a CDM4/19 based Magnavox but I have always loved the Stable Platter on these models. Had a PD-54 a number of years ago but after it died gave it away to someone to possibly use the transport as a spares for his Cary.
