I replaced a Yamaha cds-2000 which has the balanced outs with the Marantz. The Yamaha is really good, but it does not have the bandwith, transparancy, and accuracy of the Marantz. If you need balanced outs, the SA-10 is the machine - but at a higher cost. Do this search "marantz sa ki sacd" on ebay.
The key feature of the Marantz is that it upsamples everything to 4 times sacd so the filtering is easier on the output-rather than the various brick wall schemes used in most cd players. If you really need balanced out-consider the cds2000 not the cds 2100 which uses a different chip set.
