fantja - Good questions. The answers are yes and yes. I really wanted to just get my feet wet in the computer/server application, but in doing a bit of research, it appears it's a bit more complicated than I first expected. So that led me to rethink that plan.
Regarding CD/SACD playback, I really think I can get better reproduction than I am from my Arcam player because of it's age and I presume (perhaps erroneously?) that the technology has improved so that most newer CDP's and DAC's will provide better reproduction.
Any thoughts are welcome. Best. Forrest
