the Marantz too. Marantz CD players are highly reliable, and if you ever need repair, they have excellent customer service and are backed by a 3 years parts and labor warranty (most other CD players have a 1-2 year warranty). My NAD CD541i was disappointing and was betterd by any CD player I've had before or since, including a comparably priced sony cd changer. The NAD stopped working after minimal use when it was out of warranty and it was not worth repairing. That is why I will never buy NAD again.
As for Marantz, all of their CD players are the best value at the respective price point and always have impeccable measurements on the test bench. If you have a problem within warranty, they will repair it quickly and without fuss. I recall reading a stereophile review of an entry level Marantz' measurements as being "astonishing" (it may have actually been the 5004). You can't go wrong with Marantz.
