Cheap CD Player needed: Marantz or NAD or ?

So I'm shopping cheap (by audiophile standards, a stretch for me) CD players.

The models that seem to float to the top of the reviews nowadays are the Marantz CD5004 and the NAD C515BEE. So the question becomes: Which of those is most likely to be reliable? I'm replacing a worn-out player and it wouldn't do to replace it with another one that doesn't work either.

Of course if you have a better recommendation (reliability please) at the $250-$350, I'm willing to listen. I just don't want a real old one with the laser on its last legs...
