RE: My Local Thrift Store has A Marantz CD-94 and and D/A Converter

Yes, just because they charge what eBay charges, doesn't mean you'll get anywhere the protection that you get from eBay.

I was at a thrift store that had a Pioneer Spec 1 amp with a print out of a inflated eBay buy it now price next to it. I tested the amp and it went straight into protection.

I asked about the high price for something that didn't work and they said that the money was for a good cause. I asked if what I paid over what the object was worth was tax deductible and they laughed once again saying it was for a good cause.

A person really needs to check the prices of things in thrift stores, at least in AZ. I went to two little thrifts the other day. One had a Yamaha A/V amp for twice what they sell for on eBay and the other had a Marantz A/V amp similarly over priced.

The first store also had an Orion telescope for about $20 less than a new one and a cheap guitar and amp combo from the 60s for $500. It seem that around here vintage electronics have gotten very popular and what I used to be able to buy for $20 is now being offered for $200.
