Thanks Mark. After reading the review on it at Whathifi and talking to a salesperson at AA, I decided to order the Marantz CD6004 instead. It is currently burning in right now but my first impressions so far is a warm, slightly soft sound. After about 100 hrs I'll give it the run through and decide if this is for me since I have the 30 day return policy. FWIW, the build quality is excellent and has some great features including turning the digital out and display panel off which you won't find in many other players. It is also made in Japan which I feel is a plus in my book.
