It's been so many years since I've heard Bose (or Onkyo, for that matter), so perhaps I can't be entirely fair -- good or bad -- to those, but I am currently using some older NHT speakers (Model 2 floor standing), and I must say, they sound great.
Every system develops its own synergy (good, bad, or indifferent -- depending upon so many things, including personal perceptions), and since I haven't heard any Cambridge Audio gear (with or without Onkyo/NHT), I can't comment on any of that.
