I was in the same position as you earlier this year. I was tempted by the Audiolab but had no chance to addition it ( or most other options).
I seriously considered the Marantz CD 8004 because I wanted to try SACD.
Searching the internet I was looking for dealers and availabilty in Canada and happened on the Pioneer Elite PD6 MK11 from Gibbys Audio Video in Ontario. I also found a very favorable review of it and it was on sale for approx. $500.I purchased it and am very satified -SACD is even better than I expected-
the SACD of Dire Straits Brother in Arms is better, to me, than my XRCD
version.FWIW, it also looks like a $5000 player with incredible build quality etc.
Anyway, just something else for you to consider.
