I've really been enjoying my Virtue Audio Piano M1, and don't mind recommending it. The M1 is sold out, and Virtue Audio is working on the next generation: the Piano M2.

I got lucky and found a used M1 a while ago, and couldn't be happier. A little while ago, I wrote a little review of it here (see link, below). It may also satisfy your size preference. Its footprint is smaller than most CD players, though it's also a pretty hefty build. Very well made, and sounds great!
