iPod m4a files compatible with Marantz CD6004 Player?

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Have been looking for a quality single disk CD player that will also accept USB and iPod inputs. The Marantz CD6003 and soon to be released CD6004 seem to fit the bill. Link below. I suspect they will play MP3 format files just fine, but wonder about m4a files downloaded from iTunes? Does anyone have any thoughts on this or experience with using iPods on a CD player.
