Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Yup!.....

As the matter of fact some of the old harsh CD recordings that I have that were made in the 90's sounded really good after I transferred them to my RTR.

The reissue SACD recordings that were pressed by Marcury label also benefited from it after transferring to the RTR especially with the aid of the DBX Type A noise reduction to suppress the original master tape hiss noise embedded in the recording.

Case in point, a few weeks ago an audiophile friend came over to listened to my system, after seeing my Otari RTR he sort of smirks at it, as if to say "what are you doing with an obsolete and non-audiophile equipment". However, after hearing the Otari's 15 IPS transfer of Patricia Barber's Live: A Fortnight in France (CD), he was silent for a minute and then he blurted out " Shit!... I didn't know those things could sound that good"
