Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: Marantz CD 63SE

Yes, I have tried it, and it works fine. Jitter is much lower (better image, more perfect pitch, more stable soundstage, sibilants more natural,...), and differences between different external DACs become more noticeable. And it is relatively easy to install, if you are familiar with your soldering iron: in fact, they have detailed instructions for this model in their web page.

If, besides the clock, you do some work on your power supply capacitors (Black Gates are excellent on that) you´ll get an even better sound. In fact, CD players are Black Boxes no more: now we´ve learnt a few ways to tweak 'em.

Good luck, and let us know
