Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Marantz CD94

I had one for many years. I bought it strickly to use as a transport. Well made and a decent transport, but it needed a jitter reduction device to sound its best. Never liked it as a cd player as it was no competition for the dacs I owned (Theta and Micromega). I sold it when I got a Parasound CDP 2000 as a transport, which beat the Marantz in every category. I also have a Sony ES changer, which is also a little better than the Marantz as a transport.
