Perhaps I should work my way on to Ken Ishiwata's buddy list and he can slip a few S2's in my pocket.
The links are really interesting; do you happen to know if Philips has an application sheet for the 1541? The general datasheet does not give much away :0/
Now the Marantz CD12 could be one to seek out, then I have heard that the Sony CDP-R1 & DAS-R1 which we released about the same time was even better; it used Sony's "Twin Link" system. I found a link to a page on the Sony gear (see below). It looks good but, damned good but says Silver Crown not Gold Crown.
