Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

I think you're on the right track

If I were to generalize, I would say that a modern DAC in the $1000 range (new) +/-, will sound better than a CDP or expensive DAC of the 1990's. Why do you think old "high-end" DACs that once cost a small fortune have depreciated in value more than any other audiophile component? A good $1000 DAC of today will likely outperform a good $5000 DAC of the 1990's.

Again, this is a generaliztion but this is one area where I think audiophiles are getting a lot more performance for a lot less money compared to a decade ago.

And to take this even further, you may be surprised to find some outstanding "cheapo" CD/DVD players from places like Best Buy or Target.
