Oh.. My..It's true. My Sony 5-disc through my Audio Alchemy DTI 2.0 + DDE 1.2 also produces this effect. I've been putting off upgrading the front end, searching for that elusive product that will rid jitter and convert the digital to highquality analog without up-over-through pseudo-fake silver-bullet approach.
I still haven't found it. I was skeptical this was actually a problem, or that I could hear it on my system, but yes, it's there. And my, it sounds SO much better after you repeat the track. It's especially noticable with the sound's "space" - a guitar with reverb - the reverb tail is smoother, the guitar more "3D" ... and this is on a very humble system. Clear as night and day. How can this still be a problem 20 years after CD was introduced????
I'm going insane trying to find a reasonable priced solution... argh...
