If you have Auricaps in place it will take 30 to 70 hours for them to break in to where you will enjoy the magic they add to the music. My experience with Auricaps has been 70+ hours for them to let the music shine. YMMV.Ten hours is just not enough time for them to break in. Give them a lot more time. Over the hours the sound changes in various portions of the frequency response before settling.
It has often been suggested that you not undertake wholesale mods to a system. This approach of massed mods may mask a problem. It makes it difficult to determine which mod is the culprit.
I have Auricaps in my modded 3950, coupling caps in my tube preamp, and in my speaker crossover. I like what they do for my system. With a little patience you will likely find the same in your system.
Let us know what you think of the sound after you have had a few more hours on the caps.
