Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Who is Dan W?

I have heard about Dan W too much. Who is he? I guess he
is getting richer and richer after posting here repeatedly,
raving and advertising, intentionally or unintentionally.
A lot of newcomes have been brainwashed by his postings, and
believe whatever *read* sophisticated, but in fact just a bunch
of buzzwords.

I know other professionals, such as Ric Schultz &
Stan Warren that *really* have a wealth of knowledge and experience.

I wonder if Dan W is just a component swapper or what. as far as I
know, he just replaces generic components with brand name stuff,
swaps out lesser-known opamps and replaces them with other
"hyped" opamps, beefs up caps, bypasses caps, diodes to hexfreds.
All these little nobrainers are too easy to be done by any
skilled persons. Actually the performance gain is questionable.

After leaving this forum, he proceeded to advertise his $300
"signature" mod which I find ridiciously expensive.
Obvisouly he hasn't done a bad job either as
Perpetual is endorsing his "signature swap".
If what he does is only swapping, what's the big deal and
what's the fuzz? His "swap" really
doesn't cost that much. Why didn't Perpetual just include them
anyways, they are increasing the P3a to $799 by the way (3/15/01)
May be Perpetual is getting some kickback from Dan W
and ends up being not a smart business decision to do so? Just
speculation...

This post has nothing to do with the performance of
Perpetual products. I am just curious about the background and
credential of Dan W. Please educate me. thanks.
