Deaf Ear - Get hold of a Radio Shellac Large Bulk Tape Eraser; use on IC, digital cable and CD... make a couple of passes, 2-4 secs total, over each item. Hold the BTE well away from the item when releasing the ON button. You should hear what sounds like a better signal, but like a lot of things YRMV; if nothing happens, you can return the BTE...
