Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: A couple of questions for all you CD demagnetists out there.

Just one more observation. With audio and listening being as subjective as it is who's to say that a "charged" cd doesn't sound better than a cd whose static charge has been depleted.

Who's to say is the respective individual for whom it applies. You're now in the realm of personal preference for which there's simply no arguing. At best all you can do is see which wins the popularity contest.

Seems if a strong enough case is made and enough "experts" chime in us consumers can be persuaded to buy nearly anything. I get a huge kick out of finding conditioning fluids "that increase conductivity and save electricity and purify sound, etc. etc. etc." only to find out these materials turn out to be mineral spirits, mineral oil, and Aliphatic Naptha. Stuff that can all easily be bought in bulk for a fraction of the cost.

That's called "marketing." :)

I'm currently training some active duty Marines on Avionics Corrosion Control and today we'll be discussing electro static discharge and the triboelectric series. I'm sure the Marines will prefer discussing about some theories on how to make their music sound better rather than the course matter so I think I'll bring it up and get their inputs and observations.

Yikes. Jar heads and technology. That's a scary thought. :)

Take care.....Have a great weekend.

Thanks! Is it Friday already or are you giving me the day off? :)
