That is, about 10 days, and it was gradual. The first symptom was that the audio would stop in the middle of a track (while the disc continued spinning). This happened infrequently, then more often. I should have waited to install the tweaks on the second unit, but I wrongly figured it couldn't happen twice in a row! And the first unit at least continued to play, most of the time, when I returned it for exchange. Both units, BTW, carried a July 2005 date of manufacture.
