Many thanks, but I gave up on it. Tried running it without the top (which should obviate the need for a heatsink) but eventually it refused to accept a disc at all, so yesterday I retrieved my Auricaps and said farewell to the thing. I never tried playing DVDs on it, when it worked. I'm currently using my mildly modded 3950 and have never had a problem with it (knock wood).
