And it does work, most of the time. And I like the way it sounds, via my Ack dAck 2.0, better than my Sony XA777ES. So I put up with its quirks. The first one I had exhibited the loading/muting problems, so I took it back. The second one worked fine for a week, so I tweaked it a little (Dynamat damping, Auricap Tweak, new power cord) and it sounds terrific. Trouble is, it started doing the same things as the first one. My earlier Toshiba 3950 never did this. Face it, these things are disposables. If I paid more I'd expect more.
