The Oppo is still a good way to go. I just pick up one for my daughter and I have been very impressed with the performance on her LCD TV. For whatever reason I don't like upsampling the output resolution. The 480p setting looks very good via the DVI out. I tried the unit on my Pioneer plasma when it first came in and I still preferrred the 480p setting. I also found a few simple tweaks that do a nice job if you are interested?
