Re: How much is the Dynamat Extreme?

It costs about $20 for two 10" x 10" sheets. I get mine at the local Pep Boys(car stereo section), but I have seen it on-line at different places. I put about 1 1/2 sheets in mine- it made a huge difference in resolution. Besides the casing, I put a few small pieces on the bridge over the back of the CD drive and on the sheet metal struts/cutouts supporting the drive area. No problems with heat; left area right over tubes undampened. I've also used it to dampen speaker baskets, etc.

One thing I like about the N.T. is the value of having a basic OEM that's upgraded to sound so good. The case is not a tank to start off with, but I know how much it costs to design and tool up for some of these high-tech CDP cases, and would rather put my money in Dynamat, some nice tubes, and lots of other goodies... others tastes will differ, but that's what makes the world go around.
