Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Keep in mind Kevin is a dealer in the States

Yes, I demonstrate and sell some high-end for a hobby (it's not my living), I would never try to discourage people here from buying products so I can sell them something else (I don't believe that would work anyhow via AA for the Dutch market), but I'd like to share my opinions because of my love for beautiful sound and I think many people are deceived in this hobby because commercial interests are much stronger than the truth. Yes, my post is another opinion but one in which I recommend to trust your own ears because there's too much faith in 'expert' opinions, I've refrained from recommending products that I sell.

I owned the old Tjoeb'99, I even wrote a very positive review on Audio Review because I liked it for the money and because the distributor encourged me to (there was some clever marketing, all owners were send letters/forms to fill out your opinions so it could be published on Audio Review).
I heard/compared the new Tjoebs often, I do get them for trade-in now and then, when people are saying that it "outperforms anything under $2000 and will give many players up to $5000 a run for their money", I think it's safe to say that it's overrated.
