I have spoken directly, and at length , to Benchmark on the specific issue of direct vs volume control signal paths. They have been crystal clear on this point and INSISTED that there is absolutely no difference in components found in the two signal paths . They claim that even the trim pots are exactly the same as those used for the volume control pots. Are you saying they have lied to me?Ps Assuming they havn't lied one could concede that the layout of the pathways is different and may introduce noise, parasitic capacitance etc but that's a different issue than you bring up.
