I agree on all points with ehider. The early '90s were a vintage period for Pioneer Elite. Just take a look not only at their CD players, but also some of the laserdisc players from that era: amongst the most solidly-built consumer audio gear ever manufactured, and IMO among the most beautiful. Nothing since from Pioneer seems to have really approached that particular level of quality—a real high point for the company, and a rare venture into genuine high-end equipment.
