Re: Best Transport in the $2K-$4K range?

The best xport I have had (albeit I haven't compared it to the 2 you mention) Is the Mark Levinson 31.5 - you might be able to get one second hand. It worked really well in my system but was too pricey for me at the time.
Apart from that , I also like the THETA units a lot , espcially the older ones (like the Data II)
You have to really try at home and see what suits you - Try a Theta Jade as a reference as its pretty much an affordable dedicated offering.
Currently I use a Meridian transport as it integrates with the rest of my Meridian gear well , however it wasnt as good as my Data II universal that unhappily died and would have cost me a small fortune to ship to America to be repaired.
