I really think that one should be able to pipe hi-rez right out.
What's the point of having a digital front end if you have only analog outputs from your source? It's a sin to digitize the analog out to process it and then convert back to analog - such as the case if one is using digital active crossovers.
May as well spin vinyl and stay analog throughout.
It seems the music industry is making life harder for audiophiles - not easier. So much technology these days - yet access to quality seems further away than ever.
Seems that way with a lot of things these days.
Anyhow, I can relate.
