RE: DAC for Red Book CD's

" Any thoughts on Gustard DAC-A22?"

Not specifically. I have a friend who runs a Gustard X20 and that sounds great for the money. However when I heard it it was part of his C-J/Egglestonworks system and I cannot split out the contribution of the Gustard from the rest of the system. Just very good overall.

However whether or not the sound is similar to an Audiomeca is beyond my experience. The last Audiomeca that I heard was a long time ago. One of their complete players coupled with Pass pre/monobloks and huge Wilson Benesch Bishop loudspeakers. Preferable to the same owner's Sony SCD-1 anyway.
