In fact the dCS system benefits even from a relatively cheap Swisssonic word clcok in my sytem - the 972/954 combo. The units simply sound more natural and organic. We can spend large sums on components, but peripherals such such sync clock and cables make a substantial difference!dCs and others should put more effort into thrir clocks. dCS uses Colledge crytal oscilltaors. A recent enquiry to them revealed that they did not have phase noise figures for their units, and did not seem top know the relevance; ie low phase noise being a prerequisite of good clocking!
