The Purcell upsampler has a different filter algorithm than the Wadia DAC. You will either gain or (most-likely) lose the time resolution of Wadia's proprietary filter. Although the Purcell may have the best filter algorithm of any upsampler. (When an upsampler is used, the DAC's digital filter function is taken over by the upsampler.) I personally would *not* consider this an upgrade, mainly because you would get a more-complex digital chain with the extra intermediate processor, and increased RFI generation from the extra processor. (Replacing an optical digital link with an electrical one will also increase RFI generation.)
