I'm posting a blurb that I got from my dealer who asked the US distributor about this issue of upsampling. The simple answer is that the 75v DOES NOT upsample and it won't with an add-on board -- it oversamples to 128X and processes this signal. What this means is that if you want to upsample, you'll still need a standalone piece (e.g. dcs, perpet. tech, etc).I think I'm finally clear on this for myself.
(From distributor to dealer)
"Dear David,The 75V first takes the raw digital signal from the laser and oversamples the 44.1 khz signal 128 times (44.1 x 128) The oversampled signal then goes a DSP, called the DSP converter in the brochure, an converts the oversampled signal to the 24 bit 192 kHz single bit format Delta Sigma, in Accuphases' case, a multiple Delta sigma system for the final conversion for the analog output.
To fully realize the 24/192 DAC's it is necessary to untilize an outboard SACD or DVD-A transport. Of course, you will have to use the SACD or DVD-A option card, the HS Link System, to connect the outboard transports to the 75V."
Apparently, Scull mentions the use of upsampling in his review and this is not really correct -- it oversamples.
