Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Over the top??

I have just gotten rid of my "hi-end" transport and am now in a position to consider re-building by digital front end.

There seems to be numerous posts on which is the best transport / DAC (different drive mechanisms, belt drive) etc) but there's just too many recommendations for me to try. Therefore I have narrowed my thoughts down to a only few options.

Here are some of my thoughts and I would welcome any comments any inmate might have or would be kind enough to share their thoughts:

Option 1 (Over the top system):

DCS Verdi (SACD & Redbook CD transport)
Tact Audio RCS 2.2X (Digital room correction)
DCS Purcell (upsample Redbook CD to DSD)
DCS Delius (DAC and clocklinked to DCS Verdi)

Option 2:

Wadia 270 (Redbook CD only transport)
Tact Audio RCS 2.2X (Digital room correction)
Wadia 27ix (can only take 24/96 (instead of 24/192) from the RCS 2.2X but can be clocklinked??)

Option 3:

Sony SCD-1 (or 777ES)
DCS Purcell (upsample Redbook CD to DSD)
DCS Delius (DSD DAC)

I am looking for comments on the relative merits of clock links and digital room correction. Of course any other thoughts would also be welcomed.
