Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: disagree strongly

I mentioned BAT, Spectral, etc. just to give you some perspective. Actually, there will be many, many machines less costly than the SCD-1 that will sound better. If I decided to mod the $750 Sony SACD player just released in Europe and Japan now, you could hear for yourself. A $500-$1000 mod on this machine would kill the SCD-1. This type of thing I have done again and again, so I can speak with confidence. The future is very bright indeed and will get much less expensive. I hope that people don't freak out over the fact that they spent all that money and now it can be beaten by much, much less expensive machines. Imagine an extemely transparent $1500 digital amp that can accept DSD, DVD-A, CD, etc. and directly drive your speakers. I sure hope it happens. If it does, it will totally change high end audio. All DACs, preamps and amps would essentially be obsolete. That does not mean you can't keep them and enjoy them. Just that you could get more accurate equipment cheaper. Is it scarry? Is it unbelieveable? Is it exciting? You choose. The truth will be heard and enjoyed by all those who are open to it.
