The reasons SACD is not everything to everybody are twofold at least: 1--our systems are not set up for the SACD sound-specifically pre amps color the sound so much that even the finest power amp will be colored
2--since the old CD format came out we are conditioned to sound with sharpely focused edges and that is something we will have to be weaned of. This is the same type of sound that vinyl lovers find objectionable. There is no escaping the fact one adjusts in very subtle ways. Example --old acoustic recordings begin to have bass if you listen hard because the digital function of the hearing mechanism adds the fundamental automatically.
