I have the MSB Platinum + but have never heard the Cary. I do not find the Platinum irritating. The + is definetly better than the original. But I have a laid back system. And I am still waiting for a good transport -- Sacd + dvd with a 24/96 digital output. LPs do better the digital.MSB Platinum +
