I had an MSB Gold Link III DAC and although I liked the sound of this unit in my system, I was not thrilled with its build quality. By that I mean, the circuit boards were not of the highest quality glass epoxy, the solder connections were not completely clean (rosin flux still present), and there were a handful of circuit board trace cuts and wire jumpers. In comparison, looking under the hood of my BAT preamps and other electronics, the layout and attention to detail and cleanliness is superb. Build quality matters to me, especially in "megabuck" high-end electronics.
