and since words are defined by their context, here it is.Oversampling: Taking a redbook sampling rate of 44.1K/sec off the disc and increasing it by an even number or a fraction thereof.
Upsampling: Taking the word length of a redbook CD, 16 bits, and somehow, through mathematical equations/formulas, stretching it up to its non-achievable and theoretical limit of 24 bits. I've also heard the term upconverting used for this process.
