I am not sure if I should believe entirly the Madrigal paper or not. Their 30.6 DAC sales was hurt by dCS quite badly, at least here in Hong Kong and they started publishing papers that go against upsampling or upsampling=oversampling. They even 'up-grade' thier DAC's display to show 384kHz (8x upsample) without changing any firmware nor hardware. dCS then claim in ML's explanation, dCS DAC are 2.822MHz (64x upsampling, 44.1 x 64)..or in case of 14/192, 12.288MHz (192 x 64).... endless.....!
