What's the volume setting of your Elgar usually at for normal listening. I worry that attenuation of the volume with the digital volume control leads to loss of detail. I'm finding that if I run a full signal from the dCS gear at 6v into my preamp...I can reduce the volume and maintain clarity and detail to a greater extent.
