Tom - I think your worries are unfounded. The streaming hardware within the Node and the module will be virtually identical. How reliable or otherwise the other parts of the Node are (DAC and preamp) I don't know, but I would expect them to be good, although not up to the same sound quality as the DAC and preamp elements in the M32.However, if the reasons for swearing at your laptop / phone were software related and they've now resolved themselves with your Node, the same will apply with the M32, as both use identical BluOS control software apps. Personally, I feel they've improved in some areas and gone backwards in others!
As an example (try this on your Node), use your Windows laptop and select Library, then Folders and select the place where your ripped CDs are stored. Then pick an Album and try to play it in full. You used to be able to do this easily, but they removed this facility in several of the versions of app, so you had to add every individual track to your Playlist. At last (and possibly prompted by me) they've just reintroduced the ability to Play All with the latest 3.12.9 version by clicking the 3-dot icon at the right of the screen.
However they've nobbled one very valuable standard Windows feature - right clicking the mouse! This means you can't bulk remove several consecutive tracks from the Playlist, neither can you Copy & Paste into the Search box - or for that matter Copy and Paste FROM the BluOS app into say All Music. Otherwise the BluOS app is pretty good and certainly way better than its rivals. Hope this helps. Peter
