RE: NAD M32 + BluOS Module

Tom - I just don't know the answer to that. NAD seems to have made changes to their streamers over the last few years. Whether this is a technological improvement or just mechanical, I don't know. I suggest this because the original plug-in BluOS module for the M12, M32 and probably other NAD products fitted into one of the wider slots. They now have the Mk II version that fits into a narrower slot. I doubt they'd go to the effort of a redesign just to allow it to use a narrow slot, so I presume there's been a more significant change.

I've used the BluOS Mk I module in my M12 and M32 and it has performed perfectly. Now I have the M33 that has its streamer built in. I can't detect any improvement in sound quality that can be credited to this part of the unit - the audio improvement is much more likely down to the new Purifi amp module. Peter

PS RE-reading your message, I suspect the Node has a lesser quality streamer module, but I say that just by looking at the price and spec. The Node has streamer plus DAC plus case plus power supply and retails for GDP 500 (latest HDMI version 800), whereas the BluOS module (streamer only) is listed at GDP 400. The Node is very good value but isn't the quality of NAD's Master Series. Are you thinking of upgrading?
