After reconsidering the situation, I decided to lower my expectation on the Verdi and will be using it as a CD transport.
I'll find a different means to play the 30 or so SACDs I have.
Who knows... I'll get a chance to obtain a match dCS DAC like the Elgar + and play the SACDs too.
