All these upsampling started by dCS is not really a marketing hype. The effect was not intended by dCS themself but was discovered by their distributor in Hong Kong, who tried one time to use the dCS972 upsampled to 24/96 and pass the signal to the Elgar and the result was astonishing. This distributor informed dCS the result the dCS didn't even want to believe it in the beginning but after lots of test, seems like everyone confirmed there is a significant improvement...even now dCS cannot tell exactly, technically, why there is an improvement! Upsampling is real but not all upsampler are created equally!
