Even for the innovator and manufacturer of upsampling hardware, Data Conversion Systems Ltd.....innovator???
What has DCS inovated lately? When has DCS inovated anything? Sorry to have a shot here but I think there are much better "inovators" then the repeated application of Crystal, Burr Brown or TKM chips. Besides who's test equipment does DCS use? Any takers??
dCS doesn't use any of the chip based solutions you refer to above. They have been software driven DPS based products since day one when they were only making data rate converters for the professional mastering market. They were also the first with support for 96kS/s, 192kS/s support, DSD conversion is about to be released and I have already heard it.
This will coincide with the support of firewire. The new A/D converter will do RIAA equalization in the digital domain.Who do you know of that released any of the above for the consumer market before dCS?
