Thank you Rodney. I am looking to see if there may be some improvement in sound using a top of the line A/D converter between my Marantz SA-1 to my TacT 2.0 RSC. The SACD signal comes out through balanced analog outputs through Quattro Fil interconnects to the TacT (the TacT has an A/D converter that came with the unit-but can be bypassed and the signal can come in digitally.) The Room Correction System has made my system come together with a sound stage, resolution and balance that is so close to live music that I would gladly trade any loss from the conversion process for the benefit of the RSC. However, I seek improvement where I can get it. The SACD through my system is a quantum leap in fidelity over the CD (even though I am doing alot of conversion with the SACD- analog/digital/analog). Just when I get things sounding so good that I think it can't improve, I add something that makes a noticeable improvement. That is what I seek now with a top notch A/D converter. From the other posts it sounds like I need to try other D/A converters too. I have been amazed at how many improvements I have made to the sound of my system. In reverse order the improvements have been: 1. P.S.Audio 300Multi; 2. Velodyne Hse18 subwoofer crossed over at 40hz; 3. Nordost Silvershadow digital cable; 4. Nordost Quattro Fil Interconnects; 5. Nordost SPM speaker wire;
6.Marantz SA-1; 7. TacT AA RSC (pre-amp/room correction system); 8.Bryston 7B-ST Amps; 9.Magnepan 3.6 speakers.
Thankyou for your advice.
