I have written at length about Simaudio's uncalled for and dismissive attitude, re: the remote. It makes no sense to throw in a preamp remote with a $13,000 CD player. But as the Andromeda uses a Philips transport, any remote which adheres to the Philips code will control the Andromeda. I use the remote which came with Arcam, Creek, and EAR players.Yes, the < < and > > are slow. They do not ramp up.
How do you like the Andromeda's top-load mechanism and puck?
I'm trying to find friends who have access to the expensive Boulder, dCS, EMM Labs, and Esoteric digital gear. It'll be interesting to investigate further the limits and capabilities of redbook CD playback.
